GatherGate.com is designed for
collectors of unique, rare and valuable items. Dealers/members can post their items for sale,
or they can post what they are looking for. This great new
concept is designed to bring people together in a safe trading
environment.
We cover all types of collectibles, memorabilia and high-end items: automobiles, yachts, aircraft, stamps,
figurines, trading cards, comics, antiques, art, coins, dolls,
postcards, paintings... and many more! We also cater for unique experiences, like one-of-a-kind vacations, safaris or expeditions.
We offer you a full range of listing options, including double
listing. The site is very user friendly, with a total of 4 images
per item. The images are easy to add and the photo quality is
excellent. Members and their browsers/visitors have the option
of communicating directly through our 'response' system.
All items on our site are sorted randomly on a daily basis.
This gives all members a fair chance to have their items displayed on the first page of item lists.
Featured space is available on our home page. 'All Categories'
page and also in the left-hand bar of all sub/subsub/category
pages. This does not interfere with item lists, where all
items are treated equally! Rather than charging a rate for
the featured slots, interested members are able to bid on
these slots on a pay-per-click-rate basis. Members may bid
on as many slots as they like, and may set a maximum spend
per day on each slot, and also across all slots. For a specific
slot the highest bidder's item will be displayed until that
bidder's maximum spend for the day has been reached, at which
point the next highest bidder's item will be displayed, and
so on.

- Items will be displayed in a specific sort order for
a 24-hour period, after which the system will recalculate
the sort order of all items using a random algorithm.
This will ensure that all items will receive equal exposure
over a period of time.
- Each item has statistics, showing how many times it
has been viewed by visitors.
- Visitors may post responses to items. These responses
may then be viewed as often as you like. Receive daily
notification via E-mail of the total number of new responses
you have received since the previous E-mail. If there
were no responses you won’t receive an E-mail.
- Download up to 4 images per item.
- Download an Appraisal Certificate to back up your
asking price.
- Each item on the site may be linked to an additional
category to facilitate multiple-category items.
- Help buttons appear at strategic places to provide
valuable information should the user click on them.
- Powerful 2-tier Search feature. The 1st tier searches
for text contained in the Titles of items, and optionally
Descriptions too. The 2nd tier allows for additional
filtering in the item list, where a user may enter a
combination of criteria to further filter the items,
i.e. Title, Quantity, Price, etc.
- Items may be sorted ascending or descending by clicking
on blue column headers.
- When doing a 1st tier search, the system will also
search for the text in the names of all category structure
names, and will display results below the items list.
This provides the visitor with additional information
that might be helpful during the search process.
- Item prices can be entered in most of the major currencies.
If a currency is not currently supported, we will consider adding
it to our database if we receive a request to do so.
- Visitors may select a currency from a drop-down list
at the bottom of all item lists. When viewing items,
all prices will de displayed in the currently selected
currency. The actual currency of the seller will also
be displayed below that, if different. This powerful
feature gives visitors the ability to compare "apples
to apples".
